Mike Jarvis, 4th Degree[mike jarvis]

I started studying taekwondo in 1992 under Grandmaster Soon Pil Hong. I earned my 1st and 2nd Dan under Grandmaster Hong's supervision. In the years to follow I studied at five different schools before coming to Yongin Martial Arts. I earned my 3rd Dan while at Yongin and am currently working on my 4th Dan, or Master, degree. Each taekwondo school has slight variations in technique and I try to include these in my instruction at Yongin.

Brian Shapley, 2nd Degree

Brian Shapley started Tae Kwon Do as a family hobby with his three daughters when their youngest was 5. His rational when he started was that he thought it would be a good confidence building experience for the girls as well as good exercise for himself. It exceeded expectations and turned into a very positive father/daughter activity.

In 2011, the Shapleys completed their second Dan. They have worked, trained, competed and tested tougher all the way through.
